A few people wondered why many of our Barbies were without clothes. Here is the story of Barbie in our home. (A home with three girls has seen A LOT of Barbies!!!)
Girl sees Barbie in store, in box, brand new with perfect hair and all accessories in tact. Girl must have Barbie.
Barbie is opened in car. (Painfully...Barbie is bound in box and practically needs wire clippers to be set free) By the time Barbie arrives home several accessories have mysteriously disappeared somewhere in the car...never to be found.
Barbie is played with, taken in the bath, pool, and had her clothes changed.
Eventually the clothes are missing, her hair has been unprofessionally cut and she loses her original appeal.
She is stuck back in the holder unclothed because no one can be bothered to find a new outfit for her. Next trip to Target the "Barbie Syndrome" starts all over again!
I guess there are some girls who do take better care of their Barbies, but that is the fate of most Barbies in our home. (Although we do still have a fully clothed "Posh Spice" doll!!!)
By the way, the holder is actually an over-the-door shoe holder. It holds a lot of Barbies!!!
