My Paper Tales

Hello Everyone!

I'm having trouble getting back into blogging. I feel so sad for all the people who lost their homes in the fires. I think I feel guilty that as the fires end, our life resumes normalcy and theirs doesn't.
I took my kids out of town for a few days since school has been canceled the past week. We ended up going to Disneyland and it was the first time I'd ever been during the Halloween season. It was fun...especially The Haunted Mansion. It was totally different than it is any other time of the year. They decorate it inside and out like "The Nightmare Before Christmas". It was great! (We LOVE that movie!!!)

We're Safe...

but sadly many of our friends have been evacuated from their homes. Some of these people went through this in 2003. It is eerily similar. Please keep the people of San Diego in your prayers.

We normally have a very clear view of downtown. You can see how smokey it is even for people on the coast.

It's Birthday Season...

at my house! Kailie's is on Halloween and Audrey's is a week later!!! (I just had Kevin's in September!) It seems like there are a million school carnivals and other fun activities as well! I'm trying to pace myself and get this mini-book finished for Kailie's big day. I'll show you more as I complete it. I plan to have a photo from each birthday. As many in costume as possible! (So I'm also digging through ALL my messy photo boxes!!!)

A New Barn Sale

I'm so glad my friend Diane pays attention to what's going on in San Diego, because she found out about this "Barn Sale" today. The artist's (Simone Lagies) home was even featured in the October (page 56) Better Homes and Gardens!

We finished our outing with lunch at Caffe Calabria. I love their coffee...and the panini was great too. The best of all is the cherry biscotti!

The Finished Project

I finally finished...this was FUN!!! I used an older photo of each of my kids for the corners. (The girls are all wearing a costume I made for Kailie's 4th birthday.) I used mainly Martha Stewart paper and K & Co. die-cuts. I think this will be a fun decoration to hang each year!

Fun in OC!!!

Helle and I drove up this morning...first stop, "Paris to the Moon". On our way into the store we met Kerri and Danielle. These girls are too talented and too much fun!

Behind the main store is "Paris Underground" full of amazing Halloween decor. You have to see it!

The girls suggested we eat at "Taste Buds" It was great. We got dessert a few doors down at "Five Sweets".

Our class this evening at Scrapbook Oasis was awesome! We just loved Candice!!! She's so nice and her class was wonderful. I always love to visit with Karen too. (owner of SB Oasis) She makes the store a great one! I'll post a photo of my completed project after I add my photos at home. Check back to see what we do tomorrow...I HAVE to go to "Roger's Garden's"!!!

A Little Peek...

Time for Sweets

Linda brought me these great NEW clear A Muse stamps...wait till you see them ALL!!! This is from "Party time (small) 7-PARSM". I used my Copic markers. I am especially loving the Spica clear glitter. I out-lined almost everything with it. This set is too much fun!
